Castleman's disease, or giant lymph node hyperplasia, is a rare lymphoid tumor that results in a benign hypervascular mass and usually occurs in the mediastinum; but it is extremely uncommon in the retroperitoneum. This tumor is radiographically
and
operatively indistionguishable from retroperitoneal malignant ones. A 45-year-old female patient was admitted due to frequent nocturia and general weakness for 2 year. a retroperitoneal mass, 16×8×6cm in diameter, was incidentally detected at
the
right infrarenal region by ultrasound and computerized tomography. Complete excision of the tumor was performed without any complication and confirmed histopathologically as a retroperitoeal Castleman's disease of the the hyalinevascular type.
