Abstract
Castleman's disease, or giant lymph node hyperplasia, is a rare lymphoid tumor that results in a benign hypervascular mass and usually occurs in the mediastinum; but it is extremely uncommon in the retroperitoneum. This tumor is radiographically
and
operatively indistionguishable from retroperitoneal malignant ones. A 45-year-old female patient was admitted due to frequent nocturia and general weakness for 2 year. a retroperitoneal mass, 16¡¿8¡¿6cm in diameter, was incidentally detected at
the
right infrarenal region by ultrasound and computerized tomography. Complete excision of the tumor was performed without any complication and confirmed histopathologically as a retroperitoeal Castleman's disease of the the hyalinevascular type.
